Since what age are you skiing and how did you discovered free skiing?
I started really early, I did my first slalom comp when I was only 2 years old. My mum was a slalom coach, but both my parents thought I was too young for competing. But when my older sister was doing comps, I wanted it too. And that´s where it started. When I was 16 I started working extra as a ski instructor, during weekends and holiday, and that´s where I met the older, cool boys, who were skiing offpiste and dropped cliffs. They took me to a comp and from that very start I felt that freeride is my sport.
What are your greatest successes so far?
2nd Scandinavian Bigmountain Championship 2011, 3rd First track of Chandolin 2012, 1st X-Over Kitzsteinhorn 2013
What is your goal for 2013?
Keep on develop myself as a person and as a skier.
Right now you are living in Engelberg. Is this your favorite place to live so far?
Engelberg has a great terrain, great skiers are living there and the snowfalls are just amazing. But Ihave skied there a lot now, so maybe I will find another place for next winter, I will see.
What are you doing from June until October? Any other sports you love to do?
I love long distance running in the mountains, biking, longboarding, hiking, kayaking.
Where are your most important friends? Are they skiers as well?
They are spread all over the world. Sometimes I am jealous on my grandmother and her friend. They are still living in the village where they grew up. So much easier.
What is you biggest passion apart from skiing?
Singing jazz music and taking care of reindeer up in the swedish mountains.
Your mental coach Carina Vineberg is helping you a lot in focussing on yourself and the competitions. The presentation at Haglofs Arctic Weekend was very inspiring. How often do you see her and how is a procedure before you are taking part on a competition?
I rarely meet Carina, but we talk a lot on Skype during my days of travelling. Before the competitions we disscuss what I want to do, why I want to do it and we disscuss my choice of line.
Any product you cannot live without?
Anything else you want to spread?
Its all about taking risks
Thank you so much, Lotten!
